In a world filled with noise and uncertainty, this year helped me focus on what truly matters—both professionally and personally.
It was a year of breakthroughs, challenges, and growth, each contributing to a deeper understanding of my path forward.
With this newfound clarity, I’m able to look back at the milestones and moments that shaped this transformative year.
Here’s a recap of what happened in 2024:
Breaking Ground in Tech
The tech world opened new doors as I attended Apple’s WWDC and Google’s I/O in person for the first time.
One of the most profound moments came at HLTH Foundation, witnessing history as the first human regained movement after paralysis through brain implant technology.
Rootd’s Growing Impact
While these tech experiences were inspiring, the most meaningful impact came through our own work at Rootd.
The numbers tell a powerful story.
Rootd helped end 5,846,572 panic attacks through the Rootr tool—a staggering figure that represents millions of moments where someone found relief in their darkest hours.
Our commitment to mental health earned us the #1 ranking for anxiety apps, and seeing Rootd’s logo featured on the App Store homepage was a thrilling validation of our mission.
Global Connections
As our app’s influence grew, so did our reach beyond borders.
The year took me everywhere, speaking on panels and sharing Rootd’s mission across eight cities, five countries, and two continents.
The healthcare and business landscapes opened up through pivotal events like Behavioral Health Tech, HLTH Inc., ViVE, MAU Vegas, and C100.
A particular highlight was joining the inspiring minds at TED Conferences, where ideas and innovation converged.
Personal Milestones
Beyond the professional achievements, 2024 was equally rich in personal experiences.
Here are some of my highlights:
- Diving into 30 different worlds through books.
- Watching LeBron James play in LA.
- Mastering the art of blacksmithing.
- Cherishing precious time with my grandmother’s sisters.
The future of transportation became reality through Waymo’s self-driving experiences, while childhood dreams came true watching beloved artists perform live.
Empowering Others
These personal achievements were meaningful, but equally fulfilling was the opportunity to give back.
Throughout the year, I dedicated time to meeting aspiring app founders and fostering community through women’s networking events, both as a participant and host.
These moments of connection and mentorship proved invaluable.
Embracing the Journey
While these moments of connection brought immense joy, the year wasn’t without its challenges.
Not everything went according to plan—a seemingly perfect-fit program didn’t materialize, a months-long RFP effort didn’t convert, and despite being a top-five finalist for an award, the win remained elusive.
November brought its share of personal and professional challenges.
Yet, as I mark two years of full-time dedication to Rootd, I’m filled with gratitude for the unwavering support that carried me through.
Conclusion
Through both the setbacks and successes, one thing became increasingly clear.
The clarity gained this year isn’t just about seeing where I’m going—it’s about appreciating where I’ve been and who’s been there along the way.
With two years of full-time entrepreneurship behind me and the incredible support of my community, I’m eager to embrace whatever 2025 has in store.
